Planning Process:
Firstly, I really never looked through a bridal magazine or thought about color schemes until a couple of months ago. Some women do it for fun and plan out their wedding before they get married. I was thinking that it would be a great idea to have a very casual engagement party, probably at my parents house considering that my apartment and my fiance's apartment are not very big and it is a lot cheaper than getting a room at a restaurant. I am not so good at planning parties, my parents are much better at that. While planning the party, I also have to complete my coursework for grad school, work full time and we're moving in together and have to find a place. I also am trying to sell my condo. o_O I may elect to have my engagement party on my birthday so that I don't have to worry about having to plan another event.
Everything will work out. I am so happy to be with my fiance', meeting him was the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Ideas:
1. The bridal party should focus on proper nutrition instead of dieting.
2. I don't really want to do bridal boot camp...Insanity worked just fine for me and I like the privacy of my own home. I may change my mind later, but I don't have a lot to lose.
3. Fall wedding... what color scheme? I think I should hire a wedding planner but I was thinking a reddish orange bridesmaid dress would be nice. It's hard to find a color that would look good on a wide variety of skin tones and fit into a Fall wedding scheme.
4. Wedding favors should be something environmentally friendly, like herb seeds. I would say a small tree but many people live in apartments and the cost could be very high...small candles

My Engagement:
After more than two years of dating and several months of discussing whether or not we had the same beliefs and views on marriage and family my love finally popped the question. I do not like being the center of attention and dropped hints that a public proposal would not be a good idea. I think we would have both been crazy nervous even though he knows I would have said yes. I believe that it is very important for any couple to discuss family values and beliefs, for example spanking, should you keep finances separate, religion of children, etc. I knew that I really wanted to find someone special to spend the rest of my life with and I really wanted a family one day so I spent a lot of time trying to meet new people, girlfriends to go to networking events, online dating and going out. In the end it all paid off. I am in a wonderful relationship with an amazing man. I really feel that there is someone out there for everyone, you just have to be open to receive them. Ironically my bf lived very close to where I grew up and went to many of the same places that I went to. I asked him if he thinks we may have ever crossed paths and seen each other and thought, "I think that person is really attractive, I would date someone like that."
